It has taken me a long time to understand how to inject the face properly and I am still learning. The point is, that is has taken me 16 years to become one of the best injectors of facial filler across Canada. 16 years…. Don’t assume that whomever is injecting your facial filler knows what they are doing.
Many injectors do not or will not have an honest discussion about how much filler it takes to give you the results you want. I touched on this in previous blogs about important questions to ask your injector. This is an art, this is a skill, this takes practice. It is one of those skills like playing the piano well that takes 10,000 plus hours to get good at. This is not amateur territory.
Your face and your hard-earned money deserve the best.
This is what leads to so much misunderstanding about cost. For someone over the age of 50 who is starting to have sagging and never had any aesthetic treatments before, this takes budget. What do I mean by budget? Facial filler is expensive to make and therefore as with everything else, this cost gets passed on to the customer. However, that is not the main point.
There are very few master injectors across Canada and if you want to see the best, there is a cost to this as well.
The best plastic surgeons charge more for facelifts for good reason. Through their experience they will give you the best consultation and the best result. The same thing applies here. You want the best carpenter, painter, roofer, psychiatrist etc., you will pay more for their level of expertise and guidance.
You can go to Walmart but you get what you get. This is your face!
The most helpful 3 questions during a consult are:
- What is the result that you want to achieve?
- How quickly do you want to get there?
- How can we make that fit your budget?
If your goal is to get to as close to perfection as possible and you want to get there quickly, it will take a substantial budget. There is no way that you can escape this paradigm. The results we achieve are so good, they are simply not achievable with plastic surgery that can cost you upwards of $15,000 to $30,000!
I will repeat this: The best plastic surgeon through nipping, tucking and sucking cannot achieve as natural and lifted a face compared to what an expert in facial fillers, Botox and advanced laser treatments can achieve.
So, how quickly do you want to get to your goal? If you want to get there quickly, it will take substantial budget that might be as high as some plastic surgery procedures, but our results are more natural and do not carry the surgical risks of plastic surgery.
What I like to do is a series of treatments to get you to your end goal. We set up a series of injections every 2 weeks, 2 months, or even every 6 months, depending on your budget and how quickly you want to get to your new baseline.
I am sorry, but I simply cannot achieve an impressive result where you will feel that you got your money’s worth with one or two syringes of filler after you get into your 50’s and 60’s and start to experience some sagginess unless you have already been keeping things up and have a nice established foundation (or incredible genetics).
What I can do is create magic with a series of injection sessions over time and this is one of my very favourite things to do and where our patients feel the most satisfaction and get most value from their cosmetic experience.
