To find out more about electrolysis, request a consultation at either of our two locations or call us at 403-221-4497 (Calgary) or 403-945-0350 (Airdrie) and one of our helpful staff members will schedule your appointment.

About Electrolysis

Electrolysis differs from other methods of hair removal in Calgary because it treats one follicle at a time, without impacting the surrounding skin cells. We have evaluated many different methods, and find electrolysis to be the optimal treatment option for facial hair and hair in hard-to-reach places. This precise method can be used on all hair colors, and can even be utilized to remove grey hair. During your consultation, our aesthetician will discuss your options with you to determine the best treatment plan for achieving your aesthetic goals.

Your Electrolysis Treatment

The treatment process is relatively painless, and the aesthetician may use a topical anesthetic to keep you comfortable throughout your procedure. After thoroughly cleansing your skin, a very fine needle is used to conduct an electric current into each hair follicle. This method destroys the hair follicle to prevent the hair from growing back, leaving the surrounding skin safe. The treatment time will vary, depending on the regions targeted. In some cases, the aesthetician may recommend several treatments to achieve the results you desire.

Although some patients experience mild redness following the treatment, it usually subsides in about a day. After the treatments are completed, the area treated will be smooth and hairless, with no harm to the surrounding skin.
