Introducing the ReNue Radiance Program

We have been working very hard over the last few years trying to figure out what we can do to continually improve the results for our customers and the experience within our locations.  We listened hard, put our creative hats on, and came up with the ReNue Radiance Program, or “RRP.”  What we kept seeing was that “ReNuers” were not paying enough attention to their complexion as it ages and what we kept hearing was that they had great intentions to come in on a regular basis to keep their BOTOX or filler injections up-to-date, but life often was getting … Continue Reading

Treating Skin of All Colors

I was reflecting on what has changed in my 20 years of practicing cosmetic medicine, and one thing that has changed strikingly is the number of patients with skin of color that are seeking help with their aging skin.  By “skin of color,” I assume you know that I don’t mean tanned skin.  (I will save you the seminar on why tanning is brutal for your skin.)  Canada is becoming more ethnically diverse and it is reflected in our patients. Preparing for That Special Event

A lovely long-time customer of mine just completed a series of Juvéderm treatments.  Her goal was to feel the best she could for her son’s upcoming wedding.  It is common for us at ReNue to get approached for skin rejuvenation and anti-aging treatments prior to a special event.  I can think of another client, recently, that was going to a family reunion in Eastern Europe and wanted to feel her best for the occasion.  These are stressful events.  We are all self-conscious of how we have taken care of ourselves over the years and I guess we hope we have … Continue Reading

The Power of Looking and Feeling Younger

One conversation struck out to me from a customer that has been … Continue Reading

The Problem with Politeness

This might be a blog more about friends and difficult conversation than medical aesthetics, but here goes.  I was at a talk given by a famous childhood psychologist a few years back and I remember one comment he made that stuck with me.  It went something like this. “The down fall of Canadian parenting is rooted in traditional British politeness.” This was of course coming from an Italian psychologist!  His point was that we are often too polite for our own good.  Kids understand direct, “un-polite,” commands from parents that are not laced with too many pleases and thank yous.  … Continue Reading
